Meet Michele

Passion and Heart for Service

I was born in Brinkley, Arkansas back in the early 60's. My daddy was a businessman who owned his own company and mom taught honors English and choir. My parents loved us well,  and we were raised in the United Methodist Church.  

My Granddaddy Dial was a businessman well-known in economic development circles. He brought the Van Heusen shirt factory and a wholesale grocery company to Arkansas. He served on the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Board for the state of AR for 20 years. My Gran was a homemaker who taught me how to build a fun, quality relationship with my granddaughter, Emersyn.

I was a cheerleader, sang in the choir, played handbells and flute, in DECA and my first job was in a dress shop. I had a traditional, small-town, Christian, southern upbringing. 

I was the first grandchild to go to college and came to Memphis to finish my degree 40 years ago.  I stayed here to build my life.  I finished my Masters degree just weeks before my son Weston was born.  He is a former Lakeland Lion and Arlington High School graduate.  I am very proud of him for pursuing his quest to become an electrician with the IBEW.

​My  concentration as an elected leader has been on keeping taxes low, parks and recreation (development of both infrastructure and programs), safety for our residents and businesses, and quality, high-performing schools.
